Today, I am going to share with you the steps involved in Consulting and Reprinting KRA Tax Compliance Certificate on KRA iTax Portal. Tax Compliance Certificate is one of those crucial documents that you get from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) after you have complied with the laws by filing your Income Tax Returns whether KRA Nil Returns or KRA Employment Returns.

Our main focus will not be on applying for the KRA Tax Compliance Certificate, but rather on the steps that you should take and follow when you need to Download Tax Compliance Certificate. This is sometimes referred to as Consult and Reprint Tax Compliance Certificate. Now we need to look at some basic terms in this process of downloading KRA Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) on KRA iTax Portal.
What Is Consult And Reprint Tax Compliance Certificate?
Consult And Reprint Tax Compliance Certificate is the process in which a taxpayer using his or her own KRA iTax Account, downloads and prints a copy of his or her Tax Compliance Certificate using the Certificates Functionality on KRA iTax Portal.
There are many reasons why a Taxpayer might need to Consult and Reprint Tax Compliance Certificate with the main one being that he or shee needs to use it as part of a requirement e.g for a job or even tender application.
Now that we have the basi information on what is meant by Consult and Reprint KRA Tax Compliance Certificate, we need to look at the main requirements that you need to have before Downloading and Reprinting your Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC).
Requirements Needed In Consulting and Reprint Tax Compliance Certificate
By now you know that any process or application that you need to make on KRA iTax Portal requires you to be logged into your iTax Account. KRA PIN Number
KRA PIN Number is the most important requirement that you need to have with you is your. KRA iTax Password
The next item that you need to have with you is your KRA iTax Password. You will need the iTax Password to access your KRA iTax Account. Once you have requested for password reset, a new password will be emailed to you and you can use it to log into your iTax Account.
You can only change or reset your iTax Password if the email used in KRA iTax Portal is the same that you currently have. If you don’t remember or need to change your KRA Email Address, you can submit KRA PIN Change of Email Address order online at Cyber.co.ke Portal and have your Email Address changed so as to enable your Reset KRA iTax Password.

How To Consult And Reprint Tax Compliance Certificate On iTax
Step 1: Visit KRA iTax Portal using https://itax.kra.go.ke/KRA-Portal/
The first step that you need to take is to ensure that you visit the KRA iTax Portal using the link provided above in the title.
Step 2: Enter Your KRA PIN Number
In this step, you will need to enter your KRA PIN Number. If you have forgotten your KRA PIN, you can request for KRA PIN Retrieval here at Cyber.co.ke Portal and your KRA PIN will be sent to your email address immediately. Once you have entered your KRA PIN, click on the “Continue” botton to proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Enter KRA iTax Password and Solve Arithmetic Question (Security Stamp)
In this step, you will be required to enter your KRA iTax Password and also solve the arithmetic question (security stamp). If you have forgotten your iTax Password, you can check our article on How To Reset KRA iTax Password. A new password will be sent to your email and you can use it to login. Once you have entered your iTax Password, click on the “Login” button to access your iTax Account.
Step 4: iTax Account Dashboard
Once you have entered the correct iTax Password and solved the arithmetic question (security stamp) as illustrated in Step 3 above, you will be able to see and access your iTax Account Dashboard. This is as illustrated in the screenshot below.
Step 5: Click on Certificates then Consult and Reprint TCC
In this step, you will need to hover your towards the right hand side of the menu items list and click on the “Certificates” menu and from the drop down menu sub-list items click on “Consult and Reprint TCC”
Step 6: Consult and Reprint Tax Compliance Certificate
This is the step whereby you consult the KRA Compliance Database for you to get a copy of your KRA Tax Compliance. You will need to take not that all the fields marked with an asterisk (*) arte mandatory. Let me give you a tip, you do not need to fill in the “Certificate Serial Number” field even though its mandatory. But if you have your Tax Compliance Certificate Serial Number, you can just fill it. But just leave the field blank, it will work fine.
You will click on the “Consult” button to proceed to the next step as shown in the screenshot above.
Step 7: Download Tax Compliance Certificate
This is the last step whereby you will are able to Download KRA Tax Compliance Certificate by just clicking on the Certificate Serial Number column. Here, you will note all the Tax Compliance Certificates that you has previously applied for will be displayed including their status either “Approved” or “Expired.” The screenshot below illustrates the same.
From the screenshot above, the current Tax Compliance Certificate will be in “Approved” status while your previous year Tax Compliance Certificate will be in “Expired” status. You can only Download current KRA Tax Compliance Certificate form the KRA iTax Portal. Below is a screenshot of a sample KRA Tax Compliance Certificate.
The trick to downloading the KRA Tax Compliance Certificate is by just clicking on the certificate serial number i.e KRAMSN**********20. This will download the PDF version of your KRA Tax Compliance Certificate and you will be able to save it and even print a copy of the same for use.
